DIAMOND WAND MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion, also known as the power peel, is low risk and requires absolutely no downtime. It's fast enough
to squeeze into your lunch hour.
It’s
effective on it’s own, but Microdermabrasion can be combined with a chemical or enzyme facial peel resulting in even
better results.
You can use Microdermabrasion to treat fine lines & wrinkles, acne,
enlarged pores, scars, stretch marks, age spots, sundamage, and that’s just the beginning.
Simply
put. Microdermabrasion makes your skin better. If you have bad skin, it can change to good skin; if you have good
skin, Microdermabrasion transforms it into GREAT skin.
As
an acne treatment, Microdermabrasion is so successful. Once your pores unclog, your acne can heal faster, and with
the dead skin cells wiped away, acne causing bacteria has nothing to feed off.
And
like dead skin, raised scars and fine wrinkles can be blasted away. After a few treatments, Microdermabrasion can have your
skin looking brand new.
*Microdermabrasion
should not be used on patients who have taken the medication Accutane (Isotretinion) in the previous twelve months.
In
the past, Microdermabrasion was carried out using abrasive crystals. However, in the last decade, it has become more
common to use a wand with a roughened surface. This procedure requires no medical oversight and is commonly used in
conjunction with facial spa treatments.
Diamond Microdermabrasion uses a diamond tipped wand to abrade, buff, and vacuum
away the topmost layer of the epidermis called the Stratum Corneum (dead skin cells). When this layer builds up, skin
appears dull and feels rough and dry.
These dead skin cells also act as a barrier to the moisturizers you apply, further adding
to the problem of dryness. The stratum corneum is home to minor skin imperfections such as fine lines, blemishes,
scars sun damage and dark spots.
Microdermabrasion removes this layer of skin to reveal the healthy skin underneath. The most common areas
for treatment are the face, chest, neck, arms, and hands, but may be used on other area of the body.
